The Course comprises 4 parts:
1. Assessed Ride
2. Theory Test
3. Attendance at 2 Day Course
4. 2/3 mentored sessions with your own Associate
A short (30-60 min) assessment ride accompanied by a senior member of the Training Team.
You will be required to demonstrate a competent Gold standard ride throughout the assessment.
The Theory test will be based on “Roadcraft” and “The Highway Code”
There will be approx 25 Questions designed to examine your in-depth knowledge of Advanced
Riding Techniques and Skills.
The 2 day Course will comprise both Classroom and on-road training sessions. The Classroom sessions will cover all aspects of the role of an Observer as well as looking at Safety and the importance of Brieifing and Debriefing.
You will also be asked to demonstrate your ability to give a short (5min) “Lay-by Talk”
Out on the road you will play the role of an observer. Your “associate” will act out a number scenarios enabling you to practice the art of Briefing and Debriefing an associate.
There will be plenty time for discussion and Q&A
At the end of the Course the Course Staﬀ will announce the results and give you any feedback on your performance.
These sessions will give you the opportunity to put into practice the skills you learned in part 3 of the Course. You will run the sessions with your Associate but will also have the backup of an experienced member of the Training Team. They will lend support if requested and will then give you feedback at the end of the session.
