| BikeSafe is an initiative run by Police Forces
around the United Kingdom who work with the whole of the biking
world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider
casualties. By passing on their knowledge, skills and
experience, police motorcyclists can help you become a safer
more competent rider. Find out more by visiting the
BikeSafe website.
Our club supports BikeSafe in a number of ways. Several
of our trainers have passed the rigorous assessment to become
BikeSafe observers. This means that the same person who
might be training you to pass your RoSPA test is trusted by the
police to assess people at BikeSafe events across the country.
We also attend BikeSafe events to promote our own club and to
explain to riders who attend the various options that are
available if they wish to undertake advanced rider training.
Finally we regularly run club ride-outs to BikeSafe events.
They are great fun, with the opportunity to take test rides on
new bikes or just browse the stalls for bargains. No
matter how skilful a rider you are, it is always worthwhile
taking the opportunity to have an assessed ride from a police
rider. One of the golden rules of advanced rider training
is that you are never too good to learn more! |
