Your Commitment

Organising training

Once you have been paired up with a trainer, it will be your responsibility to contact him or her so that a mutually agreeable time, date and place can be arranged to meet.

Should you be unable to make it, please contact them and cancel.  Do not just fail to turn up.

You will appreciate that trainers are volunteers and receive no reimbursement of costs from the group, so if you feel it appropriate to make a contribution to the trainer's fuel cost, please do so.

Remember, they are helping you. Trainers will already be of a very high standard, are giving their own free time, and using their own motorcycle and fuel to guide you up to and through your test.

Your motorcycle

When you arrive for any activity within the group, whether it is a ride out with your trainer or an organised run, please make sure your motorcycle is maintained in good order and road legal.

If for any reason it is found that this is not the case, you will be asked not to take part, and to remedy the situation before attending again. This is not the group making ‘silly rules’. The fact is that if the worst happens and you are stopped or have an accident, the association is made with the group as a whole, (RoSPA as an organisation) and will reflect badly on RoSPA and undermine the standing of the motorcycle section.  It may also leave the trainer open to accusations of abetting. We are sure no one wants this to happen.
